Basement turned Sports Lounge Renovation

Well, I'm very proud to unveil this project! This was my very first large scale renovation. I'm super excited and happy about it! I'll be honest it wasn't the easiest task at first bc I was so new to interior design and in the process of the makeover I decided to expand my craft and started taking classes at the Art Institute, so I had a lot on my plate.

I presented this idea to some good friends of mine, Clint Saulsberry, who happens to be a Celebrity Jeweler and his wife ,Cori Saulsberry, who is a renowned Hair Stylist in Chicago's Loop Area, back in October and they were on board with the idea and gave me this wonderfully large space to work with. Their main objective was to obtain a space that would allow them to entertain during parties that they have regularly.

During the renovation period I kept trying to grow my trade and they were very, very patient about it. I can admit that it was a roller coaster just because I wanted it to be awesome not only for them but for myself as well. I was learning as I was doing their project and also picking up other projects along the way, but I wanted this to be what I grew my business on and what people visualized when they thought of LuxeFactor Decor,so needless to say the pressure was on for me.They expressed that they wanted a lounge type environment that would not only be visually appealing but comfortable as well. They have children also, so the objective was to get a space for entertaining family as well as friends. Cori was into the bolder coloring of a room (hence the peacock blue accents in the room) and Clint didn't care any way or the other as long as his Sports Jersey's and  TV were intact (a "man cave" setting). So combining both of their requests into the space was the goal.I gave it a modern and contemporary look with a lot of mirrored accents and in the end it all worked out, looking Fabulous (if I do say so myself)... I thank them both for the experience and for the love they showed me during the project and to being the "Poster Child" for the beginning of my business. I'm excited for the future, whatever it may hold!! I think the work speaks for itself and I'm exuberantly saying "FIN"........

Here are some Progression and Completion Pics:

Fashion + Art = Style + Living = HOME

I've been doing a lot of Skill Enhancement (taking interior decorating classes).... It has definitely helped me find out everything that I'm capable of and if I;m loving doing that capability... I'm now working on how to mesh Fashion trends and Home styling! I'm not the biggest Fashionista! I'm a jordan's and flats type of girl!I go by what I see and like and I usually mend fashion to my liking, therefore making it part of who I am. I'm the first to say I know brands and labels strictly off my OWN PERSONAL TASTE, if its cheaper I'm def all for it! But I do have some splurges in my closet as well! But anyway, I'm all for innovation and uniqueness, and when these two things pop out at me, I'm HOOKED! With all that being said I've embarked on combining the Couture Element of Fashion with the Eclectic Subtle Chicness of Artwork and combining them to a Lifestyle or Home Styling! I'm excited at this Epiphany! I get many but the ones that i present to others that make people say "Wow! Yes! Great Idea" are the ones that I stick with. Its exactly how LuxeFactor Decor was conceived! lol

SN: Feedback is greatly appreciated!!! Post on my Facebook or IG, if this is a big yay or a scary nay!!!!!

Chair Covers = Couture Seating

Well I've stumbled upon something so very awesome! It might seem blah to you but it's becoming my number 1! I was recently looking into a designer chair and found these absolutely spectacular Chair Covers! I know, I know Chair Covers?? But to my credit these aren't your everyday run of the mill type Chair Covers as a matter of fact they are more of a Extravagant Seating Experience....lol.

Anyway, I never knew anything like these existed and it immediately got my mojo running! I can see sooooooooooooo many different things I could create with these! These are guaranteed to make anything look extravagant! Got an old card table w/ chairs .., throw these on the chairs and a cute little table cloth on the table and wallah Luxury On A Budget *pats self on back* lol

Enjoy these pics and look around your home to see what could use a little Quick Couture and grab you some of these !!!

Ode to Rachel Ashwell of Shabby Chic

I visited this place in Santa Monica California a while ago looking for fabrics and seating for a wedding but I was in awe of how amazing this place had these amazing vintage products but they were made to look couture. I was reminded of Shabby Chic today while on N. Halsted in Chicago, searching for lamps for a Client, so I decided to a Shout Out of some sort to Ms. Ashwell and her Store. If you're ever in the Santa Monica area look her up or go to her site www.shabbychic.com ! *Side Note Only Vintage Lovers will appreciate this store... *
